DURATION

Fall 2019 Semester

INTRODUCTION

During my time interning for First Access in their Los Angeles office, I had the opportunity to take on interactive roles within the Fashion and Branding side of the company, under the guidance of the Executive VP Elizabeth Mitchell and the VP of Brand Partnerships Ashley-Gianna Hallet.

Fashion is something I greatly admire and I am grateful for all the industry experiences I’ve gained during my time with the company. My proudest accomplishments here include my involvement with the 2019 Fall Fashion Week and Bebe Rexha’s collaboration with Ugg.

ABOUT FIRST ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT

First Access Entertainment, a joint venture between Len Blavatnik and Sarah Stennett, is a multi-faceted, forward thinking entertainment company centered around the ever-changing face of youth culture. Operating in all areas of entertainment, sports, talent, branding, creative rights ownership and management, First Access Entertainment is at the forefront of innovating the development and rights management of youth culture businesses. With offices in London, New York and Los Angeles, First Access Entertainment’s dynamic team delivers global superstars and career artists. Some recording artists that the company manages include Madison Beer, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Rita Ora, and Zayn Malik.

INVOLVEMENT WITH THE FALL 2019 FASHION SHOW

I was actively involved during the Fall 2019 Fashion Weeks for New York, London, and Milan.

I created schedules for some of First Access’ clients including Madison Beer, Princess Mafalda of Bulgaria, and Chloe Caillet as shown above. This includes first communicating with brands like Tory Burch or Prada to confirm seating arrangements for the fashion show. Then, coordinating with appropriate makeup and hair artists, as well as drivers for each show. This process involves back and forth communication with assistants and our celebrity clients themselves. After the fashion shows, I reach out and arrange gifting for each of our fashion show hosts to express our client’s gratitude. At the same time, I created all the expense reports for my supervisors’ expenses during this period including travel, meal, hosting, and transportation expenses.

It was such a fruitful and amazing experience. I am so grateful to have made an impact during this time.

RESEARCH

Beyond Fashion Week preparations, I also do heavy brand research to find the most suitable brands for our celebrity clients.

For instance, Nicole Scherzinger is very health conscious and cares a lot about fitness. She was also based in Australia at the time. A potential apparel company she can work with is Australian brand One Teaspoon. Their style centers around the idea of casual luxury and empowerment, with unconventional twists on designs and fun denim styles. The brand has also worked with some other notable celebrities and influencers in the past. Bebe Rexha isn’t afraid to be bold in her style, but also enjoys comfortable clothing. She fits seamlessly with the brand images of Sinful Colors and Ugg.

OUTREACH

Now, I have gathered a generous list of potential brands for each artist. After consolidating with my supervisor, I begin reaching out to the most suitable brands for each celebrity client. This includes attaching relevant decks and one-pagers for each artist, as well as proactive communication.

SEALING THE DEAL: PITCHING BEBE REXHA TO THE UGG COMPANY

Hard work definitely paid off. I had the opportunity to create the pitch deck for Bebe’s collaboration with Ugg executives. I assisted the presentation alongside my supervisor and it was such an exhilarating experience (my first time)! The pitch went smoothly and Bebe was able to successfully collaborate with Ugg. This was so rewarding because Bebe loves Ugg shoes and often lounge around in slides, making this collaboration the perfect fit.

Here is a snippet of the deck I created!

Overall, my time with the company was such a rewarding, unique experience. I was able to truly understand what it’s like working in a fast-paced environment, and was able to further develop my adaptability, creativity, and proactive energy here. I previously didn't see myself working in the entertainment space, but my active involvement and roles at First Access Entertainment allowed me to appreciate this industry in a new light.
