2020 DESIGN CASE STUDY

EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH EXPRESSIVE DESIGNS

About FSF: The Fashion Scholarship Fund was founded in 1937 and is the largest and oldest scholarship organization supporting the country’s most promising fashion students from all backgrounds. It awards over $1.2 million in scholarships each year to help students succeed in all sectors of the industry: design, merchandising, analytics, marketing and supply chain.

The Design Case Study prompt was to develop a line of fashion products that will have the greatest opportunity to succeed with the Gen Z consumer.

Here is a snippet of my case study submission. I created a 10-piece fashion line for the Fall 2020 Collection.

The VZ Bloom collection was inspired by my goal to foster sustainability in a socially conscious environment while empowering women through bold and comfortable designs. Our values intersect with those of Gen Z’s — to stand up for what’s true. Each clothing piece is designed to make individuals feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. The use of sustainable yet affordable fabrics in this collection are appealing because Gen Z wants to advocate for changes, but under a budget, as many have not reached their career stages yet. The brand will also utilize omnichannel marketing to seamlessly combine the online and in-store experience for this audience that values tech and social influence.
